If your child will be playing in these age groups, he will need to also complete a Player Identification Card ( if not completed in the previous season). Also required are TWO (2) passport size photos, so please endeavour to have these when you return the completed I.D. Card.
If you are a new parent/player to our Club, we wish you a warm welcome, and I am sure that the reputation that we have established as a Club which prides itself on the efforts made by all to ensure a safe, enjoyable (and successfull !!) season for the participants will again be quite evident.
If you are returning from last season, welcome back !
One of the reasons for our later than usual start in registering players is that we are still awaiting the ARUís formal registration/insurance waiver form. Unfortunately there has been some delay, which will necessitate either the Club Registrar or your team manager bothering you at a later date.
The ARU has also provided a ìwelcomeî brochure which will be distributed to everyone of the coming weeks.
Another burdensome ( but nonetheless important ) task forced upon us this season is the paperwork involved with theWorking With Children Check prescribed by the recently enacted Child Protection Legislation. Basically, it is about looking at a personís suitability to work with children (as opposed to their formal or otherwise coaching qualifications !!!), to ensure that as far as possible people who pose a risk to children are not engaged in roles where they have direct, unsupervised contact with children.
To this end all coaches, managers and officials of the Club will be required to complete consent and declaration forms, and the Club is required to complete a Notice of Compliance.
Ultimately, this is perceived as necessary for the safety of your children and we are bound to comply.
GST
The Club is NOT registered for GST purposes, as we believe that the paperwork concerned will add to an already overburdened committee. Therefore, we are ìinput taxedî; that is all of our costs from footballs to sox and jerseys & canteen supplies cost 10 % more which we are unable to recoup from the Government. So please be understanding of the increased costs that we will have to bear this season, which unfortunately will be passed on to you the end user !!
Please refer to the Club Information Sheet for additional details (being all those things you would like to know about the Club, or have forgotten, or were too afraid to ask !!).
Alternatively, please feel free to contact any of the following who will be only to happy to try and answer your questions:
We look forward to participating with you and your children in a successful Season 2001

Following a Gordon Junior Rugby initiative, each club will be required to provide a certain number of ìaccreditedî referees for season 2003, and subsequent seasons. This initiative applies to Under 7ís thru to Under 10ís, and we will be required to provide accredited ìLevel Oî referees.
This is a worthwhile initiative aimed at having suitably trained referees for these age groups in order to minimise the negative aspects (whether real or perceived) from having ìjust a dadî running around trying to control a bunch of unruly hooligans and allsorts on the sidelines, and also the kids playing the game !
So if you would like to get involved in this aspect please get in contact with Greg Smith or Ian Kellaway who can provide further details
Even though we appear to have coaches and managers for most teams, PLEASE do not hesitate to offer your assistance. Trying to impart knowledge and skills to a group of children is difficult at the best of times, and any assistance that you think you can provide would be most welcome. Please speak to your coach or manager in this regard.
