We hope to field teams ranging from Under 7's through to Under 12's.The critical date for determining what age group your child will play in is 01/01/2003
For example if your child is 8 years old on 01/01/2003, they will be in the Under 9's (even if they turn 9 on 02/01/20003.
Rugby is not an exclusive sport for the male of the species!! We would like to encourage more female participation, and follow on from the successful debuts of other young lady players.
Our Under 7ís, 8ís,9ís and 10ís play modified versions of traditional rugby.
WALLA is a 10-a-side, NON-TACKLE version of the game for Under 7ís, where the emphasis is on participation and having fun.
MINI is also a 10-a-side game where tackling is introduced and there is more structure to the play.
MIDI is a 12-a-side version which provides an ideal preparation to the full 15 a-side game.
All games are played on modified, appropriately sized fields.
Training will take place at BORONIA PARK OVAL, Park Rd Hunters Hill as follows:

Unless notified to the contrary, ALL Matches and Training sessions are ON. Your Manager will provide you with further details and a ìWet Weather Routineî as soon as practical after the start of the season.
Each player will be provided with a Club Jersey for use during the Season, which is to be returned at the end of the Season.
Each New Player will be provided free a pair of Black rugby shorts
Club Socks can be purchased for $5 per pair, and shorts will also be available for purchase.
Each player is required to provide their own footwear (Under 7s can wear sandshoes if desired). Proper boots are recommended for 8s and up.
Headgear and additional protective wear is available from reputable sports stores.
Last season we successfully commenced a 'Boot Pool. So if you have an old pair or a pair that are to small, why not donate them to the boot pool IN EXCHANGE for a replacement pair ??
(Donated pairs of boots to kick off the season would be greatfully appreciated)
Otherwise, a $2 coin will get you a pair of pre-loved boots from the pool !
In addition, this system could also apply for the recycling of shorts and headgear etc if there is sufficient interest and gear to exchange.
In accordance with last years Gordon Junior Rugby initiative, HHJRUFC will once again enforce the 'No Mouthguard/No Play' rule FOR ALL AGE GROUPS. We suggest that you contact your local/family dentist to enquire about this further. We anticipate having a supply of mouthguards available for purchase from the Canteen.
We have an active Canteen Committee! We would like to operate the canteen for all home matches, however this will depend upon the assistance provided to the committee. We envisage parents from each team helping out in the canteen either before or after their childs match.
Included in the registration fee is a compulsory insurance component. Please note that this insurance cover can best be described as ìdisaster insuranceî, for major or permanent injury, AND DOES NOT REPLACE PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE COVER. It is recommended that private health cover be looked at to cover dental, physio, hospital etc. In the event of an injury requiring hospitalization you will be covered only to the extent of your Medicare and ambulance cover if applicable. If in doubt, please enquire of your manager or a member of the committee.
Once our registrations have been finalised, all managers will provide to each team member a lists of team telephone contact numbers, ground locations, code of conduct, etc
All children playing in age groups from Under 10 and up are required to complete a Player I.D. card for use during the season. Please forward a copy of your sonís birth certificate and TWO passport sized photos when returning this card to your manager or the Club Registrar. ( As a hint, those small photos you often get in school portrait packs are ideal.) It is crucial that these cards be completed and returned ASAP. Those players who have already completed a card LAST year need only sign that card in the appropriate spot. See your manager for this ASAP.
An ARU registration form needs to be completed by all new club players, and any players from last season whose details previously provided have changed since last year.
