Melissa is co-founder and director of The Cabaret Showcases which has run very successfully from 2004 - today at Capers Cabaret and now at Chapel of Chapel, showcasing new Australian talent.
Since 2005 she has been teaching privately from her home studio. Styles include music theatre, contemporary, pop, R & B and jazz. She also specialises in audition preparation and repertoire.
Melissa currently teaches Voice at Monash University for students studying their Degree of Music. She specialises in Musical Theatre and Cabaret.
Melissa’s main focus over the last few years though has been towards VCE, in contemporary vocal performance.
She has also taught at music theatre and dance schools, including The Australian Institute of Music. Patrick Studios Australia, Dance World, Centre Stage Dance School, Left Leg Studios, Christine Walsh Dance School, The Dance Factory and Tony Bartuccios. She was the Vocal Ensemble Director of Joining the Chorus, a Victorian Government funded project to encourage government school children to get involved with performing arts.
Melissa's students have included Australian Idol finalists, students and graduates of WAAPA, VCA, BAPA and NIDA, VCE students, also cast members of many Australian music theatre productions.
Melissa's personal training has included being coached by Brian Stacey, Naomi Eyers, Gary May and David Ashton-Smith.
