ADDRESS Australian Guide to Thesis and Assignment Preparation As coauthor with her husband, Sydney, of The Healthy House (initially published worldwide by Harper Collins and Thames & Hudson in 1996, now in its 2nd edition published by Dual Harmony Publishers, 2005), Australian Earth-Covered and Green Roof Building (The University of New South Wales Press, 1989, 1992; Dual Harmony Publishers 2005) and The Underworld of Myth, Magic and Mystery (Bowker Books, 2003; Dual Harmony Publishers, 2005). Together, they have produced over 70 articles and papers published on five continents. She has lectured at the Impuls Institute of the Kirghiz Academy of Sciences in Frunze (now Bishkek, Kirghistan) in the USSR as a guest of the Academy, and has travelled extensively researching and writing articles for the Geotecture Journal. She held the post of Assistant Editor to the Geotecture Journal for 10 years and, in conjunction with Unisearch (of The University of New South Wales), she was responsible for coorganising the First International Conference on Earth-Sheltered Buildings in Sydney, Australia. Joan has also selflessly and endlessly supported three generations of family, friends and associates through the trials and tribulations of school, tertiary-level and post-graduate assignments and theses. She is a much valued and respected mentor and communicator. In this book, she provides the distilled essence of her knowledge of correct procedures for writing, formatting, editing and punctuating documents suitable for most categories of formal writing in simple language.
