Listening for detail

The Listening for detail section is used in conjunction with audio tapes 1-5. Students are required to analyse information in spoken texts to identify and report specific details.

To aid student comprehension and to facilitate use in the classroom, each listening stimulus has been recorded twice.

The items in Listening for detail are divided into two parts: Part A (Listening A on the tapes) and Part B (Listening B on the tapes). The stimuli for Part A items are short conversational exchanges which specifically target the language patterns introduced in the unit. The stimuli for Part B items are short conversations which place more emphasis on the unit topic(s).
