Conference Simulation Applet
Dots represent attendees:
The blue dot is me, Anthony Dekker.
Yellow dots are people with similar interests, who I have (notionally) already met.
Red dots are people with similar interests, who I have (notionally) NOT yet met.
Grey dots are other participants.
Larger dots are authors currently due to present.
Interactions between participants are based on interest similarities inferred from the
papers in the
MODSIM 2005 International Congress on Modelling and Simulation
(Zerger, A. and Argent, R.M., eds,
Modelling and Simulation Society of Australia and New Zealand, December 2005,
ISBN: 0-9758400-2-9). The calculated network is shown below.
Participants are assumed to have previously met 20% of people with similar interests.
Other linkages develop as a result of conference interaction.
Many details of the simulation are not as in MODSIM 2005.
For example, there are only six parallel streams, and the timetable is randomly generated
(based on paper similarities). Inferred interest similarities are also not entirely accurate.
No conclusions about me or about any other participant should be made based on this simulation.
