Introducing hexagram 01 as a general context will lead to the transformation to a situation described by hexagram 43. In this sense we move from a state of singlemindedness to a state of robust 'spreading of the word'. The motivation for this is hexagram 10, Conduct or Treading a Path. Thus a context of singlemindedness combined with any text will lead to the expression of 43.
Hexagram 43 in its King Wen pattern (cooperation emphasis) manifests the concept of resoluteness, of spreading the seed far and wide. Hexagram 43 in its Fu Hsi pattern (opposition emphasis) manifests the concept of arrogence.
In both contexts the general motivation is to transform the singlemindedness into a developed sense of direction; the 'right' way.
The ERANOS translation of hexagram 43 is:
"KUAI : seperate, fork, cut off, decide; pull or flow in different directions; certain, settled; prompt, decisive, stern."
The ERANOS translation of the motivational hexagram 10 is :
"LU : step, path, track; footsteps; walk a path or way; course of the stars; act, practise, conduct; salary, means of subsistance. The ideogram: body and repeating steps, follow a trail."
In the reverse role, going from 43 to 01, the motivation is 01; the motivation to achieve a state of singlemindedness IS singlemindedness.
The ERANOS translation of hexagram 01 is:
"CH'IEN: spirit power, creative and destructive; unceasing forward motion; dynamic, enduring, untiring; firm, stable; heaven, soverign, father; also: dry-up, parched, exhausted, cleared away. The ideogram: sprouts or vapors rising from the ground and sunlight, both fecundating moisture and scortching drought."
Hexagram 01 in King Wen mode manifests pure light. In Fu Hsi mode it also manifests blinding light.
