Law links

Following is a list of links to law related sites. I haven't tried to make a comprehensive list. Instead I have listed some sites that I have found useful or interesting. I have also listed some guides that maintain more detailed lists of law related sites than I could ever keep up with. I'll keep adding to this list from time to time.

Austlii is one of my favourite sites. It provides access to a range of information. You can search legislation and case law both state and federal. This information is free but doesn't always include annotations or commentary.

Associations

• Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants (the CPA home)
• Bar Assoc, N.S.W. (an association of bar frequenters, not)
• Law Society of England & Wales (there is also a services section) services)
• Law Society of N.S.W. (this is where the solicitors hang out)
• N.Z. Law Society (solicitors from the land of the long white cloud)
• Taxation Institute of Australia (tax database and links to other tax sites)

Books

• Australian Government Publishing Service (how to order government publications and a government directory)
• Butterworths (Loose leaves everywhere. Also the publisher of an electronic legal journal called The Legal Express)
• Law Book Compay (A very interesting site. List of some legal firms with home pages and weekly judgment summaries. Also the publisher of an electronic legal journal called Internet Law Journal)
• CCH (for their cattle dog)

Computers

• Mi crosoft Word for Lawyers (as you would expect, a bit US orientated)
• Visual Aids for the Legal Profession (not a visual form of an STD - a plug for visual displays for Court)

Courts

• Lawnet (For court lists and TALL(=The Australian Law List))

• Law Courts Library (must be in the legal profession to borrow and there's a borrowing fee)
• Law Internet Resources-Parliament Library (Extensive list of law sites by country and category. This is a trial but unfortunately not the government on trial.)
• Library Search (in the US - had trouble finding this site)

• Lawnet (A great looking home page for legal surfers that like to hang five. Covers some current topics. Maintains TALL(=The Australian Law List) which is an extensive list of law related sites in category and jurisdiction. When your having trouble getting to sleep at night subscribe free of charge to High Court decisions)
