Alternative Words |
(William Shakespeare, 1564-1616, Hamlet Act II scene 2 - brevity is also great in swimwear and business communications)
The "List of Alternative Words" which used to appear here was largely based on the "Plain Language Vocabulary" in Michele M. Asprey's book, Plain Language for Lawyers, (1996, The Federation Press, Sydney). I did not have her authority to reproduce it, and at her request I have deleted it.
I recommend Michele Asprey's book as a reference. Michele Asprey says that at some stage in the future she may have her own home page and will decide then (after consulting with her publisher) whether she will reproduce any part of her book there.
