Clothing ProtectorsThe clothing protector is an alternative to moth balls. It is a cloth packaged food quality wax block containing essential oils and natural botanical fixatives, measuring 120 cm x 80 cm. The essential oils used such as: lavender; eucalyptus; clove and citronella, are chosen for their historical reputation as insect repellents. Each block contains 10 mls of these powerful essential oils.
Presentation is as important to us as practicality. The clothing protector is packaged in a calico bag neatly finished with raffia and a selection of dried flowers, herbs, leaves or gumnuts. The result is a stunningly simple but elegant, practical and gorgeously perfumed product. Some products are also available in a printed fabric bag, finished with a co-ordinating bow. The clothing protector can be used in many rooms and spaces in the house to discourage insects and provide a delightful lingering fragrance: in the bedroom place amongst wardrobes and drawers to gently perfume; place in the kitchen, laundry and bathroom cupboards to freshen and deodorise; and in the study and library nestle amongst the bookshelves.
A major feature of the clothing protector is its longevity. Our experience has shown that the fragrance will last at least three years and is easily refreshed by scraping away the top layer of wax to release the next layer of essential oils. It is not necessary to remove the block from the bag to do this, simply use a skewer or similar object inserted through the fabric. But do remember to keep your clothing protector away from direct heat because of the wax component. It is also recommended to keep out of reach of children. The clothing protector is available in a number of different perfumes. We have suggested some uses for each of these perfumes, but any fragrance can be used anywhere in the home. Rose and Lavender Rose and LavenderThe quintessential feminine fragrance, perfect to place amongst lingerie and sleepwear or the linen press. Decorated with a perfect dried rosebud. Also available in a pretty cottage print fabric to co-ordinate with the shoe freshener in the same fragrance.
LavenderThe warmth of English lavender permeates every corner of the spaces in which it is placed, gently perfuming and protecting. Lovely amongst the baby clothes. Decorated with a lavender flowerhead. Also available in a pretty cottage print packaging option.
Lavender and CloveA warm and spicy fragrance suitable for both men and women. Delightful in the pantry, as well. Decorated with a small spray of purple and white dried flowers.
CitrusA refreshingly lemony fragrance perfect in any part of the house, but particularly the kitchen, bathroom and laundry. Decorated with dried leaves and a yellow flower.
Australiana:Lemon Scented GumA lemon/eucalyptus fragrance evocative of the Australian bush, particularly suited for clothes, linen and book storage areas. Decorated with dried leaves and gumnuts. Also available in a smart dark green check fabric to match the shoe freshener in the same fragrance.
Shoe FreshenersThese shoe shaped inserts come in pairs to place in shoes. They banish foot odour and perfume shoe storage areas. They can also be used singly to perfume clothes and linen in small spaces.
Made from the "offcuts" of the clothing protector, shoe fresheners contain additional botanical filling to hold the shape and act as a medium to capture more essential oils. The perfume in these fragrant bundles will last approximately twelve months, but can be refreshed by adding more essential oils. Squeeze the bag to release more perfume. The shoe freshener comes in two fragrances chosen for their respective feminine and masculine appeal, with pretty floral packaging for the rose and lavender perfume and smart checks for the lemon scented gum fragrance.
