The secret manufacturing process captures the essential oils in a wax medium and ensures the long life of the product. This longevity (about three years for a clothing protector) combined with attractive packaging has ensured the success of the range in the gift and alternative lifestyle industries. The Stillroom is a small innovative company owned and operated as a family business in Western Australia. We often call ourselves an "invisible" business, free from the constraints of a traditional office and factory. We'd like to tell you about our company history. Much of the production work is carried out off site by sub-contractors who enjoy the flexibility of working at home. Many of these sub-contractors are older women with sewing and craft skills, who might otherwise find opportunities to participate in the paid workforce very limited. The result is a highly motivated "workforce" producing a quality product to our high standards. Other parts of the production process occur in the homes of the family members. It all comes together at the home of our managing director in the picturesque Helena Valley, Western Australia, where the co-ordination, administration and shipping functions are carried out. Like any small business, the Stillroom has had to adapt to changes in market conditions and find ways to deal with red tape and bureaucracy without losing sight of our main goal: customer service. The company’s approach to design and work practices has led to a number of awards. Now that you know the background of our business, we invite you to have a look at our products.
