A good way to pass the time this weekend
is with all your Crüe mates this Friday night (tomorrow). It's always
good to catch up with friends. Invite them over, get some chips and
dips, they bring their own vices, and watch 'Rage'
on Channel 2 from midnight. You'll no doubt all cheer loudly when your
speakers crank with the cartoon clip for Mötley's 'Hell On High Heels'
for the very first time on Australian television. Set those VCRs so you
can relive it the next morning... with clear vision!
Once your hangover is
gone, you may like to get down to your local newsagent to grab a copy
of the current Australian Guitar Magazine (with Slash on the cover) to
check out the interview with Nikki Sixx. Don't you love seeing Mötley
in Australian magazines? I do. That's one thing I miss with Tommy out
of the band now... is going to the newsagent on a Monday morning and
checking the women's gossip mags for cool T-Bone articles.... even if
half of them were crap, at least we got lots of cool Mötley pics.
Some some you have
expressed concern about any further changes to Mötley's dates. The tour
promoters said this to me as part of an email this week, "There are
going to be no more cancelled shows, we are doing Sydney, Brisbane and
Melbourne." So please, it would be appreciated if you could really keep
spreading the positive word about the tour as much as possible. Dig
deep and go that bit extra for Mötley.
Dr. Starr sent this tour ad to me
from that banana state of his. You Sam fans will find it cool to see
her name there! Oh,... no further word from management or promoters
regarding video taping of the shows yet. Stay tuned for more info when
it comes to hand.
Thanks for your emails
of thanks, after receiving street team materials. I'm not sure what was
sent to every single person, but I know people are receiving
combinations of Mötley CD Singles, Temporary Tattoos and Tour Posters.
Some have all, some have some. I know I'm still waiting on posters to
arrive, so I'll suss that out with them to see what's up.
Those of you on the
Australian Americoma Street Team shouldn't rush to your letter box each
day for flyers to arrive for distribution. Their label manager said to
me recently, "We are electronically loading on web site, should be up
next week so everyone can download the flyer." That's cool. It's Sixx's
label and he is into technology and empowering people, rather than
traditional methods. Embrace it, grab a ream of paper and copy away.
The Hard Rock Café got
in touch with me regarding my comments in Chapter
8. They wanted to follow up with the Melbourne promoter on Crüe
promotion opportunities. So those two parties have now been hooked up
and hopefully value can be seen in some sort of function there, that us
fans can enjoy in some way too.
Well that's all for
this chapter. I'm going to go and listen to some Crüe now. Maybe I'll
put Generation Swine on... I'm in a tech mood at the moment and I feel
like hearing some of those cool new textures on that album. I'm going
to skip track one though, since the kids are home. Perhaps they think
'Afraid' is the first song on the CD??? :-)
See you in your head, next time we catch up.
Rock on
Paul Miles*
