"I'll make the toast you raise the
glass, Just a few words to kick the world in the ass" Mötley Crüe - Bad Boy Boogie - 1987
This Tribute CD Project was the winner of the 1999 Asia
Pacific Western Australia Information Technology &
Telecommunications Awards in the Arts/Media/Entertainment category.
These awards are the World's Largest International IT&T Awards and
their objective is "to recognise the outstanding
achievements of individuals, organisations and corporations which have
contributed to the development of the Information Technology and
Telecommunications Industry through innovative use of IT&T."
15/5/99 After
being announced Winner, the following was read out while walking to the
stage to collect the Award:
"Paul
Miles is Executive Producer of the Kickstart My Heart project - Tribute
CD for American band Mötley Crüe, with proceeds going to a children’s
cancer research fund. Production of the CD was project-managed and
co-ordinated online with involvement of international bands and Pulse
Records in Chicago. Mr. Miles used his popular Internet site
Chronological Crue - which traces the history of the band - to recruit
bands, seek entries for a cover art contest and to keep interested
parties up to date. The CD will be launched via the worlds biggest
online radio station HardRadio. While proceeds will go to charity, this
spare time effort shows a remarkable use of the Internet to create a
project and highlights WA skill on the global scene."
Here's a newspaper article from The Sunday Times on Sunday
May 23rd 1999

Many thanks to all that contributed to the success of this
project.
