During the last twelve months over
2,000,000 people either bought albums or attended concerts by
Mötley Crüe, promoting
the group to the status of No.1 rock act in America.
Not so long ago, the Los Angeles
four-piece seemed out of fashion and out of time, pledged to the
cause of escapist entertainment; they stood for F.U.N., pure and
unadulterated, and they weren't about to cut corners or compromise
for anyone.
Four years on, with the original
line-up (Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Mick Mars & Vince Neil) still
intact, they remain as adamant as ever that at a
Mötley Crüe
show entertainment is king.
The band now have gold and platinum
albums and their album, Theatre of Pain, is destined to
make them among the world's memorable rock'n'roll heroes.

of Mötley Crüe more accurately, thoroughly, and continuously than
Paul Miles. Rather than recount the story of the most reckless
musical act the world has ever seen in the past tense, this book

facts that have been covered up, forgotten, or falsified by every
previous account. Get ready to find out the real truth behind
the highest highs and lowest lows in the Crüe's perilous kingdom
of sex, drugs, and rock n' roll..." Steve-O, of MTV's Jackass and Wildboyz infamy

"Chronological
Crue is without a doubt the definitive Mötley Crüe reference work.
I used it extensively in writing the script of The Dirt and I
highly recommend it to not only fans of the band, but anyone with
an interest in the history of rock n' roll. For contained on these
sweaty pages is a treasure trove of sleazy tidbits on not just
the band but the slew of other musicians, critics, groupies, scum
sucking corporate-types, famous wives and infamous playthings
who came across their path. If Mötley played with them, partied
with them or shagged them silly, it's here for all to see. It
is a compulsive completist's dream, filled with the sort of arcane
minutia that can settle arguments, win bets, or simply allow you
to sleep after pondering for hours the exact date of Nikki Sixx's
first overdose in the back alleys of Hammersmith. Now hurry up
and buy it so Paul Miles can finally feel as if his life has meaning." Rich Wilkes, screenwriter of Mötley's movie The Dirt

It's a tragedy. This is the true story of two desperate people

The Heroin Diaries:
A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star
by Nikki Sixx
with Ian Gittins
Published by MTV/VH1 Pocket Books
Publication date: 18/9/07
Hardcover, 207 Pages
ISBN: 0743486285
Set against
the frenzied world of heavy metal superstardom, the co-founder
of the most legendary rock band of the eighties - Mötley Crüe
- offers an unflinching and utterly gripping look at his own descent
into drug addiction.
Few bands were
as influential as Mötley Crüe in making the 1980s the heavy metal
decade. Theirs is a cyclonic story of runaway success and its
price, blending outrageous record sales and arena headline tours
with smashed up cars, jail sentences, models, drugs, breakups,
reunions…and more breakups.
In this candid
memoir, Nikki Sixx - Mötley Crüe’s bassist and main songwriter
- recounts the band’s heyday. The Heroin Diaries takes readers
along on one of the most breathless and harrowing roller coaster
rides in the history of pop music. At its heart lies the author’s
nightmare come true: a punishing heroin addiction that brought
him and the band to the edge of losing much more than just their
spot on the charts. Serving up snapshots of rock culture at its
most manic, this insider’s look at triumph and tragedy is every
bit as explosive as the musical odyssey it chronicles.

Tattoos & Tequila: To Hell and
Back with One of Rock's Most Notorious Frontmen by Vince Neil and Mike Sager
Published
by Grand Central Publishing
Publication date: 23/9/10
Hardcover, 320 pages
ISBN:
978-0446548045
Like so many rock stars who survive
into their 40s, Mötley Crüe front man Neil has produced an autobiography.
Raised in Compton, Calif., just as gangs were starting to take
over, Neil turned multiracial good looks and a bad attitude into
a career singing for the leading hair band of the 1980s. Mötley
Crüe embraced the values of rock star excess and garnered fame
as much for their drunken exploits as for their music. In one
grim episode, an inebriated Neil crashed his Ford Pantera into
a Volkswagen, killing his passenger and critically injuring two
others. Later, Neil was ejected from the band but eventually returned.
Today, he lives in Vegas, making music and running several businesses,
including a chain of tattoo parlours. Neil makes no pre-tense
of being thoughtful or reflective, but with Sager's help he's
done a more than adequate job of representing himself. Much is
said about all the women he's had, all the drugs he's done, all
the nice cars he's owned, and all the celebrities he's met. Yet
within the rock-star braggadocio lies an entertaining story of
a handsome, insecure guy with a lot of energy who got really lucky.
Interviews with friends, business associates, and ex-wives bring
much-needed depth to the narrative. To his credit, Neil deals
honestly with the suffering he's caused.
This Is Gonna Hurt: Music, Photography

by Nikki Sixx

Hardcover, 224 Pages
ISBN: 978-0062061874
This Is Gonna Hurt: Music, Photography
And Life Through The Distorted Lens Of Nikki Sixx released by
HarperCollins imprint William Morrow. The book is part photo,
part journal - but all Nikki Sixx. It is a collection of compelling
snapshots and stories that capture the rage, love, optimism, darkness,
and determination that shape his work. Told with the raw authenticity
that defined his New York Times bestseller The Heroin Diaries,
This Is Gonna Hurt chronicles Nikki's experience, from his early
years filled with toxic waste to his success with Mötley Crüe,
his death from an overdose and rebirth to his addictions to music,
photography, and love. " Love story, bad-ass rock tell-all, social
commentary, family memoir, This Is Gonna Hurt offers the compelling
insights of an artist and a man struggling to survive, connect,
and find a happy ending - a search that fuels Nikki’s being. "I
want to take you on the journey I am on, in real time," he writes.
"If you don't deal with your demons, they will deal with you,
and it's gonna hurt." The book will include more than two dozen
of Nikki's images. He will incorporate the stories behind the
pictures and how they came to be, including interviews with the
subjects so readers can see "what life is like for those whom
society has labelled as freaks."
The Wisdom of the Self: Authentic Experience and the
Journey to Wholeness
by Paul Ferrini.
-
This is one of the self-help books
that Tommy Lee purchased from Amazon.com when he was in jail for spousal
abuse. The book then inspired him to write a song about its contents.
That song ended up on his Never A Dull Moment solo album and it's
called Body Architects. Now you can purchase your very own copy from
Amazon.com as well.
The Tombstone Tourist : Musicians

great legends of rock, jazz, blues, country and R&B," with 300 new
artist biographies, 250 new photographs and handy references, including
alphabetical listings and an index by cemetery. Nikki Sixx has written
the Foreword in this book.
Blame It On Vanity by Denise
K. Matthews.
- Hardcover autobiography by Nikki Sixx's former fiancée, Vanity...
and taking FOREVER to be released.
The Best American Erotica 2000
by Susie Bright (Editor).
- A great collection of erotic stories that includes one titled "Ten
Seconds to Love (Or How Mötley Crüe Popped My Cherry)" by Michelle
Tea.
Fargo Rock City: A Heavy Metal Odyssey in Rural North
Dakota by Chuck Klosterman.
- A super read for Crüeheads. The story is based on the author's journey
to adulthood and how his life has been influenced by heavy metal including
lots of Mötley.
Star Struck: A Novel by Pamela
Anderson.
- Pamela's
admittedly semi-autobiographical
second novel is more about sex than it is about plot. Tommy Lee is
a factor in Anderson's fiction: Jimi, Star's rock-star husband, is
based in part on TBone, says Pam, "Jimi is based on a compilation
of people, but definitely Tommy is part of the inspiration, for sure."
