My Holiday at Gracemere Grange

I went to Gracemere Grange in March 2001.  This is country property high on the western side of Dorrigo Mountain just east of the township of Dorrigo - look for the signs to the National Parks and Wildlife Service Visitor's Centre - turn off here and Gracemere Grange is not far past it.  Dorrigo is inland from Coffs Harbour, past Bellingen on the mid-North Coast of New South Wales.  This makes it an excellent place to break your journey between Sydney and Brisbane whether you are taking the Pacific Highway (coastal route) or the New England highway (inland route) - though we could have done with a longer holiday right here!  We were travelling along the coast road not long after the North Coast floods and torrential rain in Dorrigo en route to Brisbane - which was another little adventure ...

Gracemere is owned and run by Helen and her elderly whippet, Jessica.

... a City Dog contemplates the Country ...

... chases a few tennis balls in the lengthening evening shadows ...

... and decides he's pretty happy to be on holidays!

Dogs are allowed inside at Gracemere (this is the most important criteria with us) - which is very warm and comfortable.  If you bring your dog's bedding (which is always a good idea) be ready for Jessica to give it a test run!
