Day Tripping for Dogs

I've been on a few day trips from Sydney to places where dogs are allowed - usually on-leash and only obviously well-behaved dogs.  Often you need to ask very nicely.  I get the impression that the privilege will be lost by just one bad set of owners so make sure you and your people are on your best behaviour and please don't spoil things for the rest of us.  If they say leashed, they mean leashed.

Get your people to ask very politely at the shop - I suspect it helps if you are on perfect drop-stay when they point to you.  There are no signs because it is very much on a case by case basis.

The information on this page can only be considered current on the day it was experienced.  If the rules have changed, they've changed.  There is nothing I can do about that.  If you do discover changes, please e-bark me immediately!

There is also the Zig Zag Railway on the Bells Line of Road on the way to Lithgow - where they even have a special dog ticket.  Well-behaved dogs (and their people) rise in the Guards Van with the Guard.  Don't expect to have your photo taken in the front of the train like me because this was taken on a slow day and my pack are members.
