MILLENIUM MOMENTS

GOING FOR GOLD

Going For Gold was made and contributed to the Quilts 2000 project to raise funds for the Paralympics to be held in Sydney after the Olymic Games. It has been sold and raised $2,000.00 for the cause.

At the request of Australian Patchwork & Quilting magazine, I wrote a pattern for it which was published in Volume 6 Number 1, 1999.

MILLENNIUM BUG YOUR GOOSE IS COOKED

Millennium Bug Your Goose is Cooked was my entry in the Pfaff Australia & Australian Patchwork and Quilting Magazine Towards 2000 Contest. It won me a $50.00 Pfaff voucher and a 7 issue subscription to APQ. It is going to my son who headed the Millennium Bug team for IBM Canada.

A LITTLE LOVE A LOTTA STRESS

JINNY'S PALETTE

Jinny's Palette was donated to Hopewell Hospice to be raffled to raise funds to build Paradise Kids, a hospice for dying children where their immediate families could be with them.

COLLES FRACTURE

Colles Fracture was my first attempt at quilting following a wrist injury that kept me from quiltmaking for a year. It contains symbols to express my frustration. The blue cross represents the hospital I saw too much of, the dollar sign stands for the money it cost us, the man in the hand is the symbol of the Physio-Therapists and it is surrounded by a lot of ouch! The no go sign on the sewing machine speaks for itself and the break is illustrated at the top of the quilt. I was so grateful to my Physio-Therapist I gave it to him and it is hanging in the entry to his consulting rooms.
