PAT'S PATCH
WELCOME TO MY WEB PAGES
| My name is Pat Finn and I've been a quilter since 1986 when my daughter gave me two cushion kits for my birthday. I put them together and, when I finished them, I thought I could have chosen colours and fabrics I would have liked better. I took patchwork lessons and have been quilting ever since. |

| FIRST QUILT THE 'LONE STAR' IS THE FIRST BED QUILT I MADE IN 1986 AND IT REMAINS A FAVOURITE. I HAND QUILTED IT STARTING IN THE CENTRE AND, WHEN I GOT TO THE OUTSIDE, THE ORIGINAL QUILTING LOOKED SO BAD I RIPPED IT OUT AND STARTED THE CENTRE OVER. CURRENTLY, THE 'LONE STAR' LIVES ON THE BED IN OUR LITTLE GUEST ROOM. THE QUILT GLIMPSED ABOVE THE BED IS A VARIABLE STAR QUILT MADE IN 1992 I CALL "STARDUST' |

| FOURTH DIMENSION "FOURTH DIMENSION" WAS MY FIRST ATTEMPT TO GET AWAY FROM RELYING TOTALLY ON A PATTERN.THIS IS HOW I VARIED THE GATHERED DAHLIA PATTERN. I HAND QUILTED IT AND 'FOURTH DIMENSION' IS THE QUILT WE USE ON OUR BED. I MADE IT IN 1988-89. IT WAS THE FIRST QUILT I EXHIBITED AT THE QUILT SYMPOSIUM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND, ARMIDALE. |

ABOUT MY QUILTS The quilts pictured above are some of my favourites. 'OUT OF THE BLUE' on the top left is the one I like best. Below that is 'LOG JAM' On the right are 'BUSHFIRE' at the top and 'REGENERATION' which was part of a Quilters Guild exhibition in Hong Kong. Below it. 'TREE EVERLASTING' at the bottom right is on the back of both the above quilts. As you can see, I love bright colours and most of my quilts are my own designs, sometimes based on traditional blocks. All of the quilts pictured are machine pieced and machine quilted. I asked my husband, George, to make up this web page for me after a number of on-line quilters asked to see photographs of some of my quilts. |
