my aberdeen ancestry

My great-great grandparents Wallace Alexander NELSON (b. 29/4/1856) and Ann Hendry MIDDLETON (b. 18/7/1858) were wed 28th December 1877 in St. Nicholas Kirk, Aberdeen, the parish of their births. Wallace was the eldest child of a John Lumsden NELSON (16/3/1833-15/2/1891) and a Jean DOW (1837-20/2/1864), his younger siblings were Joshua Kirkman (b.1858 - d. 1937), Helen Craig (b.1860) and Robert NELSON (b.1861). He was a 3rd generation combmaker, as was his father John and grandfather Robert (John was born in Canongate, Edinburgh and it is possible that the family moved when the comb factory moved from Edinburgh to Aberdeen in 1840.). John's mother, Elizabeth LUMSDEN was living in Canongate when she married but was recorded as born 'outside the county' on the 1841 census. Her father John LUMSDALE/LUMSDEN is recorded from 'Sander(s)', a place I have yet to find. Jean was born in Aberdeen, daughter of James DOW (b.1808 - 25/6/1889), a shoemaker from Skene in Aberdeenshire, and Jane FRASER (abt 1817-9/4/1899) from Aberdeen, daughter of a James FRASER, handloom weaver, and Helen CRAIG. James DOW and Jane FRASER were married 11 September 1835.

Annie's parents were an Archibald Cumine MIDDLETON (B. 30/6/1831 - d. 15/1/1902), a bird dealer in his later years, in Old Machar) and Angusina MCLENNAN (b.16/11/1831 in Avoch, Ross & Cromarty). His parents were a John MIDDLETON (b. abt 1801-25/1/1872) and an Ann HENDRY (b abt. 1799-7/2/1858), and grandparents were John MIDDLETON, crofter, Margaret GAVIN (1766 - 4/1/1848), John HENDRY, farmer (b. abt 1763- d. 21/4/1840)and Elizabeth THOM(P)SON (b. abt 1765- d. 6/2/1846).
