Now this one is a little more complicated, but an example of a real
situation. Again this can be done using the AutoCAD-MDT combination
mentioned in Block A taking not much longer. But the real difference
here is the gap that is now created between the AutoCAD-MDT team and Inventor.
In Inventor it is much slower; we now must create a number of 2D shapes,
work planes and several Booleans to get the final shape. If more
than one size of this component was required? again parametrics ‘might
but highly unlikely’ balance this when amortised over many (and I mean
a lot) of the same shapes but as this capability is available in Mechanical
Desktop and Inventor and you already use MDT or have it to use why switch
and lose AutoCAD’s functionality and FLEXIBILITY!
