VELUX SKYLIGHTS INTRODUCES ITS FREE NEW COLOURED PRODUCT BROCHURE
VELUX, a leading manufacturer of quality skylights, has introduced a beautifully produced fourteen (14) page coloured product brochure which will inspire any home owner with a dark and dingy area in their home.
The new brochure is titled 'The Complete Guide To Skylights And Roof Windows', and features design ideas using skylights in various rooms of the home together with images that illustrate the benefits of natural light.
"We wanted to show the average house-proud home owner how natural light and ventilation, achieved by adding skylights, can not only enhance their homes and their property values, but even their health as well" says Simon Carey, General Manager of VELUX (Australia) Pty Ltd.
Whether a home owner is renovating, or simply requires more light in a dark hallway or room, the ideas generated from this pictorial brochure may well give them the answer they are looking for. The extensive photography is especially useful to demonstrate the complete transformation that rooms can undergo when a clear, double-glazed skylight is installed.
People who are thinking of building a new home should also treat themselves to a free copy of this brochure - it may well give them design options they never knew existed.
The word VELUX says it all: VE = Ventilation LUX = Light With its range of both fixed and ventilating models in sizes to suit all needs, VELUX is renowned worldwide for its quality products and attention to detail. All VELUX skylights are 5 Star Energy Rated and will therefore reduce both heating and cooling costs in the home, an appealing factor to all home owners.
So get in touch with VELUX now to secure your free copy of this informative and beautifully produced brochure. Telephone 9550 3288 from within Sydney or free call 1800 251 960 if calling from anywhere else. Email address: km.v-aus@velux.com

Bring winter's sun into your kitchen
Nearly everyone would agree that the kitchen is the most used room in their home. Do you have to turn on a light in your kitchen during the daytime in winter?
A VELUX skylight can truly be described as a "window to the sky" and will open up your kitchen to a beautiful outdoor view, bringing in the winter sun and making what may be a small, crowded room appear more spacious and more inviting to spend time in.
The incoming natural light will create a bright, cheerful room in which you can enjoy cooking, entertaining or relaxing. VELUX ventilating skylights (VS) offer the added benefit of fresh air circulation - essential in rooms such as the kitchen where warm moist air is generated from cooking.
A skylight shaft is a light well from which the incoming light from the skylight installed in the roof is distributed throughout the room, directing light to specific areas that need accentuating such as the work benches of a kitchen.
In simple terms, the construction of a shaft involves cutting the roof opening for the skylight installation, cutting a larger opening in the ceiling below, and then framing, insulating and finishing the shaft between the two openings with plasterboard.
By making the ceiling opening larger than the roof opening, and flaring the shaft, you'll not only make the skylight and room appear larger, you'll also distribute light more evenly throughout the room.
So don't put up with that dark kitchen again this winter. Telephone VELUX Skylights now for more information, or to request a free colour brochure and price list. We can also put you in touch with experienced installers. Phone 02 9550 3288 or toll free (outside Sydney) on 1800 251 960.
