Portraiture has been
my passion for years and every week I went to a studio which had a model
or I organised a group myself. These days I haven't had much chance to
dedicate a day to practice painting or sketching people but still enjoy it
when possible. I always take a sketch book and pen to the airport or
anywhere where people sit for long periods of time so I can capture them
hopefully in some way, on the page.
The water colour of the little, blonde girls was also hard because kids don't have the rugged features of we "mature" folk.

These
are some of the portraits of the past. The man with the captain's hat is
my husband's father who passed away over 20 years ago. I only had a very
small photo to work from but with the aid of a computer blow up and the
lovely memories I had of him I produced a small canvas for his wife.
