I have spent more time watching the sea than painting it. Trying to capture the luminosity of the crest of a wave is a real challenge. The "7th Wave" painting below was a commissioned and a very large canvas. I had to paint it outside just to I could get far enough away to get the overall effect. It stretched my ability but taught me a lot about seascapes of that magnitude. Now I’m hooked on painting “big”!
