The Quick / Luke / Sandow families all came from St. Ives and although they got into farming when they emigrated to Victoria (around the Creswick / Ballarat area) many had different occupations in Cornwall. Nathaniel W Quick Snr was a stone mason, his son Nathaniel a butcher, and Susan Luke's father William was a blacksmith.
