Note that Arthur Murray PUCKLE and Herbert Sydney PUCKLE were brothers (sons of Sydney Mills PUCKLE and Amelia SMITH).
A John Tindall sailed from Liverpool to Melbourne on the 'Scottish Chief',
arriving on 8 May 1858. He was recorded as a labourer, aged 17. Mary Catherine (Minnie) was born in Liverpool and sailed on the 'Alfred',
arriving in Sydney on 6 Jan 1860 - she was recorded as a nursemaid, aged 19, from Lancashire.
They married in Mudgee on 17 June 1861. Their first two children were born in Mudgee and the next two in Glebe, Sydney.
They lived in Tambaroora, north of Bathurst, from 1870-1876/7 then moved back to Sydney. Mary died at Randwick and John at Marrickville (NSW BMD records name his parents as
John and Ann - likely John Tindall and Ann Davies at Runcorn, Cheshire, in 1851).

Life in Tambaroora
Initially a settlement for stockman explorers grazing cattle, by the early 1850's Tambaroora was established
as a 'gold town'. A 20 km long gold vein led to a number of other such towns growing up in the area, the largest being Hill End (initially a suburb of Tambaroora), with the total
area population peaking at 30000 in the early 1870's. John Crompton Tindall lived in Tambaroora from 1870 to 1876/77, possibly attracted to the area because of the gold rush.
In 1870 he acquired shares in one Gold Mining Company and in 1873 purchased almost 5000 shares (of a total of 65000) in another.
The photo shows John C Tindall's Court House Hotel, Tambaroora, taken 1872/3 - one of over 50 registered hotels in the area around that time. Greville's Post Office Directory of 1872 shows him as 'Storekeeper, Mudgee Rd'.
In 1871 John was on the Public School Board in Tambaroora.
