James was possibly born in Sedgley, though information on him is sketchy. Mary was born in Bloxwich.
They married in 1805 (?) and by 1841 they were living in Walsall, where they raised their family.
The Oakley ancestry is questionable, but James and his parents seem to have their origins in Sedgley.
The earliest Edge family members were from Tipton, near Dudley, later moving to Bloxwich, just north of Walsall.
Benjamin OAKLEY (1745- )    +    Hannah STANDLEY (1749- )
Benjamin and Hannah's son James was baptised at Sedgley in 1784. Whether he was 'our' James is questionable since an IGI entry suggests a James Oakley was also born in 1786
(no parents named). Both dates fit with James' age being given as 55 in the 1841 census.
Samuel EDGE (1761- )    +    Mary POSTONS (1766- )
Samuel and Mary married in Walsall, where their first child Mark was born. The other children were all born in Bloxwich.
Timothy EDGE (1738- )    +    Hannah KETLAND ( -1780)
A Timothy Edge was baptised in Tipton, Staffordshire (a little south of Wolverhampton and Walsall) in early 1738, so possibly 'our' Timothy ?
Also, no age is given for the Timothy buried at Bloxwich in 1823, so only a possibility it is the same Timothy.
He married Hannah Ketland in Wolverhampton - her burial was in Bloxwich (where the children were baptised).
The following year Timothy married Susannah Blews (in Walsall) - they had two children, Simeon & Rhoda, both also baptised in Bloxwich (in 1783/1784). Susannah died in 1801.
A Timothy Edge married Mary Brumhall in Walsall in 1805 - the same Timothy ?
Richard EDGE (1703-1755)    +    Sarah WARRAM (1700-1765)
All the children were born at Tipton to parents Richard & Sarah.
However, the marriage between Richard & Sarah WARRAM (at Tipton) seems too early, given the first recorded child was 7 years later ?
