James and Hannah were both from Pyrton, Oxfordshire.
In 1851 James ran a beer house with his mother Sarah.
Hannah was recorded as a lace maker at the time.
They married at Pyrton and a month later (15 July 1854)
sailed from Plymouth on board the 'Lord Raglan',
arriving in Port Adelaide on 24 October.
After a while in Adelaide they moved to Wolseley, near Bordertown, where they ran a farm.
James died at Lillimur, near Kaniva, after which Hannah moved to the Swan Hill area in North West Victoria, where several of their sons were then living.
She died at Kunat and was buried at the Lake Boga cemetery.

James was born at Cherry Gardens, Adelaide, and Caroline at Hamilton, just north of Kapunda, South Australia.
They married at Tatiara, near Bordertown and raised their family at Dinyarrak, near Kaniva, where James died.
Caroline died at Pinnaroo.
Martha was born at Cherry Gardens, Adelaide, and William at Elstow, Bedfordshire. William emigrated to Australia in 1863 on the 'Mary Shepherd'.
They married in Adelaide in 1882 and shortly afterwards moved to Lillimur, near Kaniva, where they farmed (& both died).
Sophia was born at Cherry Gardens, Adelaide, and Walter at Sandergrove, near Strathalbyn. They married at Edwardstown, Adelaide, in 1886. Their first 6 children
were born at Dinyarrak, near Kaniva - Edith & Evelyn at Kunat, near Swan Hill.
They were both buried at Swan Hill cemetery.
Owen was born at Cherry Gardens, Adelaide, and Lucy at Yandoit, Victoria.
Lucy's parents were from Cornwall - they emigrated not long after Nanny Ann was born.
Owen and Lucy married at Kerang in 1894 and raised their family at Swan Hill.
William was born at Cherry Gardens, Adelaide, and Alice at Linton, near Ballarat.
They married in Victoria in 1894.

They married at Swan Hill in 1911 and raised their family there.
They returned to Adelaide later in life and both died there.
