Edmund & Sarah married at Sedgley, Staffordshire, in 1833 - his name was recorded as 'Edmont'. On Elizabeth's birth certificate Edmund was recorded as a 'puddler' (iron worker), though he had died by the time Elizabeth was born - the job could apparently be dangerous .. maybe he had an accident at work? I have a note that an 'Edmund Handley' died at Dudley, Staffordshire, in 1844, though I cannot find any records to substantiate this ??
