Claus and Louisa were both born in Prussia - they married in Hamburg in about 1844.
With their two eldest children they sailed from Hamburg in late 1848 on the 'Louise' arriving at Adelaide in March 1849 via the Cape of Good Hope.
The passenger list of the 'Louise' shows Claus as a cabinetmaker.
There was another Dohse who arrived in South Australia at about that time. The relationship is not clear but he seems very likely to be Claus’ cousin.
He was Julius Heinrich Dohse, born in Kiel in 1816. His researchers indicate Claus was from the village of Bornhöved, Schleswig-Holstein, where Julius’ grandfather was born,
and that Louisa was from Prenz (?Prentz, or Preetz?) in Schleswig-Holstein.
S.A. Government Gazette entries show Claus was naturalised in 1850 taking his oath of allegiance in August. However, another entry in an 1872 Gazette,
in which he was recorded as a carpenter, gives an 1872 oath date??
Claus is buried in Walkerville Cemetry, Adelaide. Louisa died in Prospect, Adelaide.

Marizia was possibly born in Hamburg, or at least nearby.
Her first hustband was William Thomas Rundle, the eldest son of John Robins Rundle after which Rundle Street and Rundle Mall in Adelaide are named.
They married in 1875 but he died in 1883. She later married William Poulton, the brother of Dorothea's husband John, in 1898.
