I met Geoff Stanley at the PMG's Dept technicians' training school in 1970 and we were good friends for most of the following 31 years. We were involved in the early outbreak of CB radio in Australia, passed our amateur radio operator's exam together in 1973 (he was VK2YAT), and both worked in Telecom Australia Radio Section for some years.
Geoff was later employed by the Forestry Commision and the Australian Communications Authority where he worked as Radio Inspector and Frequency Assigner. He will be known to some on the internet as the operator of the Night Rider BBS in Sydney.
Geoff is greatly missed by his brother Robert, sister Elaine, many friends and work colleagues.
