We are established in Bendigo as a shop, selling a wide range of new and used books. The new books are either ones we have selected which we are sure will be unavailable through normal chain bookstores or Bendigo local histories. The second hand books on offer represent a wide cross-section with no particular speciality. We do however sell a range of older paperbacks, once available from little back street city stores, many now closed with the changes in fashionability. The internet listing more generally represents a range of books which we feel are likely to be sought due to their rarity, or would likely be more in demand in other parts of Australia or Overseas.
We have one or two passionate dislikes from our own dealing on the internet. These have seriously influenced the way we handle our own business. Firstly, we do not like to see profits made from selling postage and we charge out as close as we can to the rates we are charged by Australia Post. Secondly, our orders are processed and posted on the day, or within one business day of receipt.
One small point, which would likely apply to many others as well as ourselves, we are furiously punching details of books onto our inventory every day and we cannot keep up. We control a stock of more than five times the number presently listed, so do please ask us if you have a requirement for a book we may have but may not yet have listed. We would be very happy to search our current stock, search the internet for stocks held by others, and if unsuccessful, keep a note for the future.
