Mark's Gospel for Nine Year-Olds
and
The Acts of the Apostles Retold to Assist Family Story Telling
and
The Apocalypse (John's Revelation) for family dinner retelling
Three projects to encourage
the telling of and listening to the Bible's story
This home-page gives links to
"Hunches about Jesus - Mark's Gospel for (those who read to) 9 year
olds", "Hints of the Holy Spirit - the Acts of the Apostles for
Families" and "John's Sure Hope - Revelation for family dinner
retelling". This is part of a project I started work on in 1999. "Hunches"
was made possible by generous funding from 2001 to 2003 from the Australian
Research Theology Foundation Inc.
Inquiries are welcome from
those who might like to contribute to the further development of this project
in any way.
The aim is to tell the
biblical story so that in getting it out to children we begin hearing it for
ourselves - the aim is to encourage those who tell bible-stories to get a view
of the biblical narrative to enhance enjoyable, educative and challenging
story-telling. The text should be read carefully and its historical context
kept in view. Those who have followed the project so far may have an idea of
how my own thinking on this has developed. I am also keen to receive
"feedback".
