OASIS RETREATS FOR CHRISTIAN LEADERS – 2009RETREATS FOR INDIVIDUALS AND/OR COUPLESBarnabas Ministries continues to offer a number of opportunities for Christian leaders to experience an Oasis Retreat. Such retreats take place at mutually convenient times throughout the year. Since 1986, Christian leaders (sometimes with their partners) have journeyed from within and beyond NSW/ACT for personalised spiritual direction at Oasis Retreats. These retreats are provided to give leaders a breathing-space for prayer away from the ongoing pressures of ministry, which often make it difficult for leaders to draw aside for prayer, silence, and drawing deeply from the wells of the Spirit. Sometimes, such 'time out' is needed because a leader senses he/she is in need of refreshment of body, mind and spirit; or she/he is approaching a crossroads in life, and needs an opportunity for guidance and discernment. Sometimes, the issue to be dealt with is the weight of the pressure of ministry, or wounds encountered in Christian service. All you need to do is, plan to take a retreat, choosing from two to five days, and phone or write to arrange dates. Generally, folk plan to arrive on a Sunday evening. You will be accommodated in one of two quiet settings in or near Canberra. If you use public transport, you will be met and transported to and from the retreat. You will be given a guided retreat that would be of the most help to you, helping you sense the direction/emphasis for your retreat that would be of the most help to you. The aim of this retreat is to carve out some time in which your need can be attended to, to enable the Spirit to guide, heal and renew. COSTS: $130 per person per day ($180 per couple per day), plus accommodation. This covers a time of spiritual direction each day. REGISTRATION: You will be most welcome to attend an Oasis Retreat!
