Boundaries
Some boundaries are erected
to protect the self
and avoid
risk.
She was overweight
and tired
from carrying too much,
a self-inflicted wounding
of the spirit
that kept men
and women
and God
at bay.
What might happen
if she were to tread the path,
make the choices,
for health?
Could she bear the possibilities
of freedom
and trust
and the wild, sheer joy
of a spirited
gloriously graced
life?
