VW Caddy & Biodiesel

Website

Welcome

This site is a resource for people interested in the VW Caddy Type 2KN.

My experience with Biodiesel in this vehicle will be updated periodically.

Our 2006 VW Caddy in the above picture has the:

VW 1.9 L TDI engine with DSG. (Direct Shift Gearbox).

The vehicle has travelled 28,200 Km on up to 100% Biodiesel.

I started with 5% Biodiesel, than 10% and gradually kept on adding Biodiesel.

The engine is less than it was on Diesel and it smells better.

Engine performance depends on what you make the Biodiesel from.

I have used the following oils and fats to make Biodiesel.

The list below indicates the highest power output:

Blended Animal Fat
Canola Oil
Cotton Seed Oil
Soya Bean Oil

Fuel consumption:

Diesel: 6.4 L / 100Km

Biodiesel: 6.7 L / 100Km
