Wargaming

Wargaming involves two or more people trying to recreate a battle or skirmish on a table using miniature figures. The historical accurrancy is determined by the rules, the players skill added with a throw of a dice determining the outcome. Each set a wargame rules tries to find a balance between historical accurrancy, time and enjoyment. Generally the longer the game the more accurately it models the tactics and deployment of the battle or warriors it represents.
Wargaming is not only great fun but a great way to study and understand history and the people who made it.

Wargaming Rules

Several popular Ancient Wargaming Rules are listed below. Each one has its merits, each one tries to simulate Ancient warfare in a different way. I have tried to discuss each set in respect to Achaemenid Persian armies.
