I'm back, and I've got a good excuse!
Okay, it's been a while, but I'm back. And it's not my fault - the dog ate my homework! What a classic that excuse is. Today's site is simply called "The Mother of All Excuses Place" and it certainly is just that. If you need an excuse - for school, work, breaking up with someone, or whatever - then you'll find it here. Oh, and they are piss funny too...

Dancing Paul

I don't understand, I just don't understand...! How can this silly animated dude be such an awesome dancer? He rocks! He twirls! He looks like a tool... Just go there, and make Paul dance. It's good for you, and it's good for Paul, which is so much more important...

(time for my lie down now...)

Make yourself a Simpson!
This site reminds me of the very first website I featured in this extremely poorly updated blog. Back then, it was ReasonablyClever.com, where you can (still) build your own Lego Man (or Woman, of course). Today's site is Devil Ducky's Simpsonmaker, and no prizes for guessing what you can do. Anyone? Bueller? Anyone? Yeah, you can create your own Simpson-style animated character. Try to create yourself, or your best friend, or your wife, or your... okay, you get the picture. It's fun, at least more fun that poking yourself in the eye with a pencil...

Quick reactions - Sleepy Sheep
Well, this is really simple, quite silly and incredibly addictive. It's from the BBC, who make Doctor Who, so it must be good. The game is a seemingly simply reaction time tester. When the sheep bolts from the herd, you click a button to fire a tranquiliser dart. No aiming, just click. Seems easy, huh? But try to get your average time down, and you'll see how difficult it is. Remember, wait for the sheep to move!!!

Isn't it ironic?
That was what Alanis Morrisette sang, no? Although most of the examples in her song aren't really irony, just coincidence... If you want some real irony, with a liberal dose of humour thrown in, check out Ironic Times. It is a sensation! One of the funniest satirical sites on the mighty interweb, and they just keep on coming out with more stuff. Isn't it ironic?

It's Snow Day

Well, it's only taken me a week to get around to organising the photos of Snow Day 2005! This was the first time in about 20 years that southern Tasmania experienced a massive dump of snow. Our little farm was completely white! So were the animals, who weren't so impressed. School was cancelled for the day, and work was delayed, so it was a good result all round.

Jessica had a great day making snowmen and having snow fights. We can't wait for the next dump in 20 years time!

Manufacturing Machines and Loud Noises

A slightly unusual website for me to feature today. Firstly, it's a serious business website, and secondly, I designed it myself! It is the new website of my father's company, M and F Hogan Manufacturing. Because I am lazy, I started with a wizard-based program, called Website Mentor. After answering all the usual questions, the program set up the website, including CSS, background images and all that stuff. I then used Evrsoft's 1st Page 2000 to clean up the code (not very well, mind you) and make alterations. I first used 1st Page 2000 about 5 years ago, and found it a good program for those who like to hand code their HTML. Also comes with heaps of preloaded Java and other scripting effects, which can make your dodgy website look cool, but still dodgy. The banner heading was made with Cooltext, which is still one of the best online banner and button generators around. It's quick, simple and free. Like me. Um, no, but anyway...
