RUSSIAN ETHNIC REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL OF VICTORIA

The Russian Ethnic Representative Council of Victoria is extremely proud to announce that it has moved to 118 Greeves Street Fitzroy 3065. The new premises enable us to operate more efficiently and professionally. We invite you to come and visit our offices between the hours of 9.00 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.

New Programs

From the 1st of September 2001 the Russian Ethnic Representative Council of Victoria began running a Community Jobs Program (cjp). The Russian Ethnic Representative Council of Victoria (RERC) has served the Russian Community for nineteen years. The council is fully incorporated and its accounts are inspected annually by Government approved auditors.

RERC committee, staff and volunteers provide:

  • Information, referral, advice and training to and about the Russian Community. More than 1600 general queries are answered during the year

  • Friendly Visiting Program/Social Support for the isolated, elderly and disabled

Russian Employment Service

  • Annual baking and distribution of 180 kulichi, Easter eggs and Christmas cards to the needy

The RERC committee also organizes various cultural events, such as:

  • Annual St. Vladimir's Ball

  • Annual Day of Russian Culture Concert

  • Russian art and craft exhibitions (one at the National Gallery of Victoria)

  • Easter and Christmas caroling

  • Concerts by local and visiting performers

RERC is continually looking to support existing, and develop new and innovative quality projects which will be of benefit. In responding to the needs and aspirations of the Russian Community RERC has helped establish and/or continues to resource:

  • Russian Radio program on 3ZZZ and Russian TV on Channel 31

  • Three Russian Senior Citizen Clubs

  • Russian Migrants Club

  • English Language Conversation Group

  • Russian Male Youth Choir

  • Russian Female Folk Choir

  • Russian Youth Club

  • Russian Scouts "St. George Pathfinders"
