Fiji
24,000 cases of Dengue Fever reported since December last year.
Congo, Kenya, Uganda
Increased Cholera outbreaks. Strict food and water hygiene needed.
Papua New Guinea
Six deaths from Japanese encephalitis has been confirmed. Rural or long stay
travellers should consider immunisation. Typhoid is highly endemic in the country.
Malaysia
50 cases of Typhoid Fever have been reported recently. All travellers should have
up to date vaccination. Cholera incidence is also increasing.
Africa
With heavy rains in Africa recently, there has been an increase in the incidence of
Malaria. All travellers should have appropriate malaria precaution.
Hong Kong
Warning not to eat fish or shell-fish during the algal outbreak. Algal toxins can cause
vomiting ,diarrhoea, numbness of the mouth and impaired muscle coordination.
