I was born in England. My father (James Carpenter) was in the British Army so I have lived in Ceylon, Cyprus and Singapore until the family emigrated to Australia in 1967. I have lived in Darwin for 15 years. It is a wonderful place with unlimited photo opportunities. We have six months of dry weather and six months of wet weather, with both seasons providing spectacular sunsets and we have such a multi-cultural society here that there is always some event that can be photographed.

I have two children. My son Michael Bromley is attending Melbourne University doing his Honours Degree in Laser Optics for his Batchelor of Science Degree. My daughter Linda Bromley is a secretary in a Government Dept. here in Darwin. At the age of 18 she has already bought herself a flat to live in, and has nearly paid off her second car so she is doing very well for her age.

Alan is my second husband. We have been married for four years. He is a marvellous husband who understands my desire to see new places and we have travelled extensively. We took 60 rolls of film in Vietnam! I have always used a compact camera and for the past six months have been introduced to the delights of a Canon EOS1000FN with an image stabilizer and we are now both active members of the Darwin Camera Club.

I was born in Barbados, a small island in the West Indies. Barbadians are also known as Bajans, like Australians are known as Aussies.

Norman Edgar Marshall my father and his brother Roy Edwin Marshall both played cricket for The West Indies

My mother Yvette Jeanne Marshall formally Mitchell is a keen tennis player

Brother Ray Anthony Marshall lives in Venezuala

Brother (Jimmy) James Archeybald Marshall lives in Barbados

Sister Jeanne Ava Marshall (de Hernamdes) lives in Barbados

I have lived in Trinidad, Lima, Sydney, Melbourne, Port Moresby and finally Darwin.

I am an IBM mainframe programmer and often thank my lucky stars for my career choice.

Photography is my hobby, but would like it to become a part time occupation in retirement

Mary and I shoot cultural events and people and sunsets wherever we go. We have a market stall where we sell photos.

I have three sons Lee Marshall, Julian Marshall and Garth Marshall

Nightcliff Market Stall
We have a stall at the Nightcliff Markets every Sunday selling photographs. We display around 8000 photographs in albums and large framed prints of our most popular images.

The frames are made from packing cases by another stall holder and he finds the glass at the recycling depot. They really make our photos look good.

Each subject is in its own album and every photo is numbered. We sell directly out of the albums, with sunsets being our best seller.

Chantal Munro, Darwin's most talented face and body painter, is writing a book on face painting. We have taken the photographs for this book.

Nightcliff Markets are a recycling market and under the -co-ordinator Marie Matthews are getting bigger every weekend. The market is held every weekend, whether it be raining or dry and is gaining popularity.
