FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long should I book caricature entertainment for?
There is no easy answer to this question, it can depend on your budget, how many people you wish to be drawn or how long you wish us to entertain your guests. Generally though:

For corporate functions we are quite often booked for large corporate functions for the whole day. At night functions, it really depends on the size of the company - we might just be entertaining for three hours, or we might be entertaining all night - it all depends on the above factors. We often utilise two cartoonists to get through twice the number of people.

At trade shows and conferences, the same really applies. We have taken whole days bookings and also short bookings just in the peak times.

At engagement parties and weddings, the standard booking is four to six hours. We are often at these events for longer so as to provide everybody with a caricature 'bonbonierre' which is becoming more common with our caricatures. For birthday parties, the standard booking is three hours.

Do you walk around the room drawing or do you stay in one spot?
At most functions we have guests surrounding us involved in the entertainment as well as the person being drawn. So we take a seat allowing people to huddle around and watch the caricature being draw. At some Corporate Functions where the entertainment is more formal, we 'rove' around the room drawing the guests. We do whatever is best for the function.

But our function is at a restaurant. What happens then?
Easy! We usually set up near your table. It only takes 2 chairs (we don't use an easel). We have drawn at functions in formal restaurants such as Doyles, The Waterfront (Rocks), Prunia's (Edgecliff), L'Aqua (Darling Harbour) and it has always gone smoothly. In fact the staff are always co-operative and often want to get involved.

How many people do you draw during a function?

Most people opt for black and white caricatures as they want as many guests as possible to be drawn. We draw 10-15 caricatures per hour in black and white. Colour caricatures look brilliant, however, more time consuming - we draw about 5-6 per hour.

What happens to the caricatures?

The simple answer? Whatever YOU want. At birthdays, the caricatures drawn of your guests are often signed by your guests along with best wishes and kept in a memories folder.
At corporate functions, nearly always they are taken back to the office and pinned up on walls before being distributed.
At engagement parties and weddings they are usually given to the guests to keep (a great bonbonierre). Regardless of the function, we can 'brand' the caricatures with a company name and logo, details of the event, or wedding celebration message so that your guests remember the great time they had at your function.
