Being
born into a musical family, it was only natural for Damon O'Donoghue
to follow in the same footsteps. However while other members of the family
pursued successful careers as singers or musicians, Damon's musical direction
was to follow less conventional ways. Early in the 1970's, Damon bought
his first gramophone for $5.50 and so began his passion for mechanical
music. There followed a collection of Victorian music boxes and parlour
organs. In 1990 all of this was sacrificed for his dream - to own and
travel with the biggest street organ ever to come to our shores Australia
Fair was born. This love for his beautiful street organ
is paramount in his life but his keen mind also encompasses reading, an
interest in Australia and a special love for his fellow man.
Noni Hughes has had a wide variety of work in the
commercial world but her real love is painting and gardening. She planted
a 5 acre garden in Central Victoria and enjoys maintaining it. She also
likes to devote time to watercolour painting. Throughout her life Noni
has worked for various charities and sees this project for Barnardos
as another challenge.
