Open section

54 Random Capture Prizes. The major prize from JV Marine World is a Quintrex 4.3 metre Estuary Angler Deluxe with Dunbier trailer, fitted with a 30hp Four stroke Suzuki motor with power tilt and trim. The boat comes complete with painted hull, side and bow rails, anchor well, upholstered seats, Ace All Covers Canopy, Lowrance X-52 depth sounder, Northstar (Navman) marine radio & aerial, navigation lights, registration and safety gear. The second boat from JV Marine World is a Quintrex 3.75 Dart and Dunbier trailer with a 15hp Suzuki two stroke motor. Other prizes include thousands of dollars worth of Jarvis Walker and Rovex rods and reels, Lowrance depth sounders and GPS, Marine King boat batteries, four Club Marine Insurance vouchers valued at $500 each, Pains-Wessex safety products, Hella Marine lighting, Profishional Rod and Reel protection, Stormy Seas safety products, plus thousands of dollars of other quality fishing gear and accessories.

The Heaviest Fish in the Open Section will receive a Jarvis Walker/Rovex tackle selection, the Carved Snapper trophy by Peter Adcock, a Stormy Seas deluxe safety jacket, a $250.00 voucher from Melbourne Taxidermy Services towards mounting of their winning fish.

Second and Third Heaviest Fish will also receive a fantastic Jarvis Walker/Rovex tackle selection and a great trophy from Advance Trophies plus other products.

Open section competitors under 16 years of age are not included in the Junior section or Junior prize pool.

Each Random Capture Prize pack is valued at over $500.00.

The heaviest fish and the two runners up in the Junior section will receive a fantastic Jarvis Walker/Rovex tackle selection, trophies from Advance Trophies  plus other fantastic tackle specially assembled by BCF for the junior competitors.

6 Random Capture Prizes. Each prize will contain a selection of Jarvis Walker/Rovex tackle plus other fantastic fishing equipment specifically assembled by BCF for junior competitors.

Lucky Draw

For all entrants including Open and Junior sections.

10 Lucky Draw Prizes, including the third boat which is a 3.95 metre Quintrex Boat and Dunbier trailer fitted with a 30hp Suzuki two stroke motor and a Bimini canopy from Ace All Covers, registration and safety gear from JV Marine World. You don’t even have to catch a fish, just be at the presentation on Saturday afternoon and place your Lucky Draw ticket in one of the Lucky Draw boxes before 3.00 pm.

Junior Casting Competition: Sponsored by Jarvis Walker for the under 16 years of age competitors (proof of age may be required) there are twenty Jarvis Walker rod and reel sets to be won. The casting starts at 1.00 pm. Entry ID card must be shown to enter. All junior competitors entering the casting competition will also receive a show bag sponsored by Jarvis Walker and BCF.

Bar-B-Que and Drinks: Your entry entitles you to a free bar-b-que meal and two cans of refreshments at the presentation area. Additional cans of beer or soft drink can be purchased.

      WEIGH IN STATIONS:
      Friday night Oct 31st  10pm to midnight at Carrum, Mornington, Rye & Hastings
                                                             adjacent to boat ramps.
                                                            
      Saturday Nov. 1st  Mornington Racecourse Car Park, 10am to 2pm.
                                                             Eight individual weigh in stations will be available.
                                                          
      All Station locations will be in Information Kit.
    • PRESENTATION:           The presentation will be conducted at Mornington Racecourse        
        Mornington-Tyabb Rd. Mornington  (Melways Ref: Map 146, A3).
       Ample off-street parking in the racecourse car park. Loss or damage is at the risk of the owner or driver.

COMPETITION RULES

  1. The eligible species is Snapper and capture is restricted to Port Phillip Bay and Westernport.
  2. All fishing must comply with the amateur fishing Regulations of the State of Victoria.
  3. MINIMUM size of fish accepted is 40 cm. No fish smaller than this size to be at a Weigh- in Station.
  4. A limit of two (2) fish per competitor to be weighed in.
  5. Mutilated fish, fish that have been frozen or that are in poor condition will NOT be accepted.
  6. Fish will be accepted for weigh in GILLED, GUTTED or WHOLE at the discretion of the competitor.
  7. Weigh-ins will take place on Friday night 10pm to midnight at Carrum. Mornington. Rye and Hastings Ramps and Saturday from 10am to 2pm only at Mornington Racecourse.
  8. The weigh-in closes at 2pm Saturday. Those in the weigh-in queue by this time will have their fish accepted.
  9. Each Competitor must hook and land their own fish but may have assistance with gaffing or the use of a landing net.
  10. One section only per competitor to be entered i.e. Open or Junior.
  11. Competition times shall be strictly adhered to.
  12. Prizes for the Open and Junior Random Capture divisions will be awarded to those competitors whose numbers are drawn from the appropriate Open or Junior barrel of all competitors who weighed either one or two fish in their division at any of the official weigh stations. Each fish weighed will have one entry placed in the applicable Junior or Open division barrel. Once a ticket is drawn, it will not be returned to the barrel. One competitor is eligible to win only one boat. Where an angler’s number is drawn twice for boat prizes, on the second occasion it will be discarded and another number drawn.
  13. Lucky Draw prizes will be drawn and awarded to those competitors whose Lucky Draw Tickets are placed in the Lucky Draw boxes by the closing time of 3.00 pm on the day of presentation. Each entrant will be eligible for only one prize. Once a ticket is drawn, it will not be returned to the barrel. Unclaimed prizes will immediately be redrawn
  14. Open section competitors under 16 years of age are not included in the Junior section or Junior prize pool.
  15. Heaviest, second heaviest and third heaviest fish prizes will be awarded separately in the Open and Junior divisions to the competitors who according to these rules, presents for weigh-in fish which at the conclusion of weigh in are determined by SPAC to be the  heaviest, second heaviest and third heaviest fish weighed. Unclaimed prizes will be put into the Luck Draw prize pool.
  16. Members of the Snapper Point Angling Club Inc. shall only be eligible for prizes if their fish are presented for weigh in no later than 10.00 am on the day of the presentation.
  17. Disputes and challenges will only be considered by SPAC if made in writing providing all relevant facts are presented to the Weigh Master no later than 15 minutes after the close of weigh-in on the day of presentation of prizes. The Weigh Master shall present the written document to the SPAC Disputes Committee for consideration. Disputes shall be resolved prior to the beginning of the Presentation of prizes and the person or persons lodging the dispute advised of findings. Disputes and challenges will not be accepted once the Presentation of prizes commences.
  18. ALL PRIZES MUST BE CLAIMED BY SHOWING THE OFFICIAL COMPETITORS IDENTITY CARD WHEN CALLED DURING THE PRESENTATION CEREMONY.
  19. Any person found to be in breach of these Rules or Conditions of Entry shall be subject to disqualification from the competition and any prizes involved shall be included in the Lucky Draw.
  20. The sole adjudicator on all matters shall be the Snapper Point Angling Club Inc. All decisions are final no further discussions or correspondence will be entered into.
  21. The competition will not be cancelled on account of weather. If insufficient fish are weighed for all or any of the random capture prizes to be awarded, all or any remaining prizes will be awarded by lucky draw.
  22. If for reasons beyond the control of the SPAC the Presentation cannot be conducted at the given time and/or location, all prizes except those for the Heaviest Fish division will be awarded by drawing numbers from a barrel containing the numbers of all entrants. Each competitor will be eligible for only one prize. Winner’s numbers will be published in the Herald Sun Public Notices on the Saturday of the following week. Prizes shall be claimed from a nominated location at an appointed time by showing the official COMPETITORS IDENTITY CARD.
