The Person paradigm is a different way of knowing.
It is ignoring the easy path of dualistic awareness, i.e.seeing reality
in either of 2 unreconciled boxes person (spirit/mind) and non-person (matter/energy),
and choosing instead a limited central 'person only' knowing that paradoxically
opens into a greater awareness.
'Person knowing' was the 'tree of life' of the
Garden of Eden.
Seeing reality as existing entirely within Personhood
is not illogical from a Christian perspective, as Christianity asserts
that all that is, is sourced in God who is personal, and is returning to
Him. Personhood is the stuff of eternity.
God encompasses all that is from eternity as living archetypal idea
within the holy flow of the Trinity.
At its source, the Universe, or created reality, is an ideas
flow between God whose Spirit broods over, and whose Word
speaks out Creation into the hearing Wisdom
within Otherness.
Christianity also attributes death (non-personhood) to separation from
God. A separation, which like all dualism was
reconciled by God in the death of Christ.
(See William Law on Matter - postulating matter
as sourced in the fall )
(see also George Berkeley who postulated a philosophy
of Idealism, denying any unperceived material reality,
which whilst it doesnt make a lot of sense to a dualistic mindset, sits
quite happily in the context of a reconciled person reality)
To understand the universe meaningfully we need to have our roots in
the living Wisdom
who hears well. Within this pure central core of personhood, it possible
to experience reality as a unity.
Outside this central core however, and we are one with other perceptions
who hear a plethora of confused words in a progressively corrupting grey
dualism of fading brightness. A place where pure personal and infinite
knowing is corrupted in deficient hearings, and corrupted speech. Fading
out into the darkness of depersonalisation and death. The darkness of an
impersonal, materialistic, and mechanistic universe.
