DD17 No.1046

|
1046 is the third DD17-class engine on the Zig Zag Railway, and in 1974 became the first steam engine to work on the line in preservation. 1046 worked on the railway until approximately 1981 before being stopped for major overhaul, but other projects have since taken priority in the workshop. This 1999 photo shows the stripped-down engine frames, bunker (original and replacement) and boiler.
