My ReallyGood Icon Has Disappeared From The System Tray
Either: (a) your evaluation period has elapsed. (b) the software was not loaded on the system under your username (c) your registry has been corrupted
ReallyGood Shareware Products (NetAlert and The ReallyGood Internet Timer) downloaded from the Internet are evaluation copies. These are fully functioning, single user versions, active for a period of 15 days to enable you to decide if they meet your requirements.
After 15 days the program will no longer load and the only way to continue to run these programs is to register them. After paying the registration fee, you will be sent an activation code which will turn your evaluation copy into a fully operational, multi-user program and you will be eligible for free upgrades and full user-support from The ReallyGood Software Company.
The ReallyGood Internet Timer works for some of my users, but not the others.
If you are using Windows NT or Windows 2000, the users will need to have Administrator rights to install the software under their username. If you do not wish all of your users to be Administrators, you can make them Administrators, install the software, then change their rights back to standard users and the application should function normally.
What is an IP
address?
Every computer connected to the
Internet has an IP (Internet Protocol) address, used to uniquely identify them
on the network. When you dial into your service provider, you connect to a port
on their host system. Each port on their system is allocated an IP address and
you assume that address for the duration of your session. Therefore dial up
users generally have a different IP address every time they access the
Internet.
Why would I
want to publish my IP address? There are
many advantages to publishing your IP address. Your friends and associates can
transfer files directly you using FTP (File Transfer Protocol) or they can
connect directly to your PC and use PrivateTalk, the ReallyGood Software
Company's chat program.
Why doesn't the ReallyGood Internet Timer work on my PC when I use AOL? AOL use a
different dialling method to the standard windows remote access service and some
versions of The ReallyGood Internet Timer cannot detect when the system
went online to the Internet.
There is a version of The
ReallyGood Internet Timer which now handles all kinds of ISPs including AOL,
which contains many of the features included in the latest version of the Timer,
with the exception of the data volume logging functionality.

AOL Timer.
